Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joey Nix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray Robinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nix's entrance music is Gorilla Militia by Bliss n Eso. A fine choice. Robinson has chosen Louisiana Blues as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nix fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Robinson sprawls well initially but Nix persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Robinson tries to roll over but Nix keeps him under control.
Robinson is trying to control but can't.
Robinson is not content to let Nix control the position.
Nix passes to full mount!
Robinson tries to hold on but Nix pushes him away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nix manages to capitalize on a mistake by Robinson to take his back!

Nix got a little sloppy there for a moment and Robinson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nix has managed to get both his arms back between Robinson's legs - danger averted.

Nix has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Robinson works to full guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Joey Nix.
