The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Leben defends well and James ends up having to push Leben into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Leben stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Leben misses with the combination.
James fails with a takedown attempt.
Leben throws a head kick that misses.
James looks for a takedown but Leben sprawls well.
Chris Leben has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David James.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

James throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Leben's waist but Leben gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing James off to one side.

The fight stays on the outside here - Leben looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

James looks to land a combination but Leben avoids it well.
James avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
James shoots in but Leben avoids the takedown attempt easily.
James looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

James shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. James showed some decent athleticism there.
James wants to take a breather but Leben is having none of it.

James shoots in for a takedown but Leben shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Leben slaps away a takedown attempt from James, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Leben tries to land a front kick but James steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Leben tries to bum rush James with a series of wild strikes but James uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Leben throws a right hand that James ducks under and follows up with a left that James also avoids with ease.
James dives in and grabs Leben's left leg, looking for a takedown. Leben pushes down on James's head and hops out.

James changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Leben tries to avoid it but James manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Leben to the ground. Leben escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

James shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Leben sprawls well. Leben wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. James gets slowly back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Leben doesn't manage to clinch there - James circles away.
Leben looks to land a combination but James avoids it well.
James throws a right and a left that Leben avoids nicely.
Leben moves in looking to clinch but James pushes him off.
Horrible takedown attempt by James or perhaps it was just good defense by Leben, which made it look bad.
Leben throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Chris Leben is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
James shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Leben as he avoids it easily.
James fails with the takedown.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris Leben dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Leben misses with a head kick.
James will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Leben lands a big head kick that sends James tumbling to the mat! Leben takes a step backwards and waves James back to his feet - he wants the finish!
James is rocked!
It looks like David James has been cut.
James backs away from a small jab... but Leben lunges forward with a huge superman punch! James crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Leben with a spectacular finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Chris Leben!
