Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Black Dynamite (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cortland Cartwright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dynamite kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is BLACK DYNAMITE teaches TANK ABBOTT "Disaster Safety". Cartwright has chosen St. Anger as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dynamite slaps away a takedown attempt from Cartwright, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Dynamite seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Cartwright misses with a double jab

and Dynamite holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Dynamite lands with a light punch inside.
Cartwright blocks a body shot from Dynamite.
Dynamite lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Cartwright fails to pull guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cartwright jumps guard but Dynamite turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Black Dynamite has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cortland Cartwright.
Dynamite misses with some punches.

Dynamite lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Cartwright ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Cartwright no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Cartwright is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Cartwright thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dynamite's head.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Cartwright working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Cartwright wants to work for an arm triangle but Dynamite is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Cartwright is taking a breather. Dynamite says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Cartwright is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dynamite is just riding it out for now. Cartwright eventually gives up the hold.

Cartwright is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Dynamite defends it well.
Dynamite knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cartwright on the ground.
