PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Milton Blahyi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Galu Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blahyi kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Cowards by American Head Charge. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Li shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Blahyi's guard.
Blahyi is trying to keep Li in close.
Blahyi tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Li decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

That's time! Blahyi's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

and Blahyi counters with a straight right hand.
Blahyi swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Li ducks under a wild hook from Blahyi.
Li dives in and grabs Blahyi's left leg, looking for a takedown. Blahyi pushes down on Li's head and hops out.
Milton Blahyi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Galu Li.

Li manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Blahyi on his heels. He'll look to pass Blahyi's guard now, I'm sure.

Li is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Blahyi still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Blahyi has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Li scores with a sloppy right hand. Blahyi should have avoided that one.
Blahyi tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Li manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Li is sitting in close to Blahyi's body. Blahyi has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Li is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Li is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Blahyi.
