PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ray Fayth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Pablo Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fayth comes to the cage accompanied by Awry Decade - Aisle of Denial. Green has chosen Metallica - Unforgiven as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ray Fayth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Juan Pablo Green!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Green takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Fayth looks to score with a jab to the body but Green is just out of range.
Fayth throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Green takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Fayth lands a nice looking body shot.
Fayth lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Fayth fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Green throws a right hand that Fayth ducks under and follows up with a left that Fayth also avoids with ease.

and Fayth counters with a shoot takedown. Green fights it but they end up in guard.
Fayth stopping the sweep attempt from Green.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Green keeps trying to improve his position.
Fayth wants to pass the guard but Green is keeping the position.
Green seems keen to control Fayth's posture.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fayth postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Fayth pushing down on Green's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Green told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Fayth is trying to control. Green wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fayth works his foot free and advances to mount.

Fayth takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Fayth is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Green can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Green is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Fayth goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Green is on top in guard.
Fayth keeping moving, preventing Green from controlling successfully.

Fayth is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Green in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Green cracks Fayth with a solid left hand.
Green stands up over Fayth, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Green has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Fayth to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Green is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Fayth pulls down on the head and he's put Green to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Ray Fayth!
A very excited looking Ray Fayth made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
