Silva has chosen system of a down - violent pornography as his entrance music. Rickson Silva has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Green.
Vince Green seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Green misses with a few strikes there.
Green lands a really nice looking cross but Silva seems unphased.
Silva blocks the body kick.
Green fails with a takedown attempt.
Green throws a push kick but Silva slaps the foot to one side.
Green throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Green wants to clinch but Silva slips to the side

and Silva counters with a takedown into side control.
Silva happy to just control the position for now.

Silva looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Silva wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Green, who protects the arm well.
My spies in 11th Planet MMA inform me that Silva has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva controls the position from side control.
Let's hope that Silva has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Silva has hold of Green's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Green tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Silva cranks the arm and Green screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Green, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
