PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Terrell Grant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Cartmen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cartmen has chosen Eric Cartman - Come Sail Away as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Terrell Grant!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eric Cartmen!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, John Kavanagh and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cartmen scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Cartmen is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Grant knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Grant tries to bench press Cartmen off him but Cartmen keeps the position.
Grant can't do much from the bottom here.

Cartmen wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Grant, who protects the arm well.
Cartmen tries to move into full mount but can't pass Grant's legs.
Grant tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Cartmen wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Grant defending against the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cartmen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Grant keeps working.
Grant is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Cartmen is looking for a kimura but Grant is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cartmen to get the leverage.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Cartmen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Grant does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Cartmen is looking to advance position but Grant won't allow it.

Cartmen is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Cartmen seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Grant tries to get to full guard but Cartmen has control of the leg.

Cartmen is looking for a kimura but Grant is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cartmen to get the leverage.

Grant wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Grant will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Cartmen pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Grant is keeping the position for now.

Grant has his foot on Cartmen's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cartmen works his way back into a safe position though.
Cartmen must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Cartmen thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Grant is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cartmen defends well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

A relieved looking Terrell Grant thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
In defeat, Eric Cartmen stepped up to the mic, saying 'screw you guys i'm going home'.
