The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hargrave scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Laukkanen doesn't seem bothered though.
Laukkanen misses with an attempted mid kick.
Hargrave tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Laukkanen manages to circle out of the way.

Laukkanen lands a big head kick that sends Hargrave tumbling to the mat! Laukkanen takes a step backwards and waves Hargrave back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Kevin Hargrave has been cut.

Hargrave closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The fighters are battling for position here. Laukkanen manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Hargrave has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Laukkanen is adopting a defensive guard.
Let's hope that Laukkanen has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Hargrave tries to free his leg and advance position but Laukkanen is retaining full guard.

Hargrave jumps guard but Laukkanen turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Hargrave is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Laukkanen to keep the fight standing.
Hargrave is trying to break free.
Hargrave changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Laukkanen fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kevin Hargrave. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Laukkanen throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Hargrave is breathing heavily.

Oooooh!!! Laukkanen has knocked Hargrave down with a huge combo! Laukkanen steps away and waves a wobbly Hargrave back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Laukkanen goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Hargrave gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Laukkanen counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Laukkanen lands an elbow that stopped Hargrave in his tracks for a moment.

Hargrave avoids the elbow strike from Laukkanen , against the cage.
