The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maldini throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Malone only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Malone throws a low kick, looking for Maldini's leg but Maldini calmly moves out of range.
Malone throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.

Maldini has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Malone.

Maldini escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Malone tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Maldini was well out of range. Poor timing from Malone.
Maldini tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Maldini takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The fight stays on the outside here - Malone looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Malone tries to close the distance and clinch but Maldini swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Malone throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Malone moves into range and connects with a jab.

Malone lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Maldini.
Maldini avoids the elbow strike from Malone, against the cage.
Malone misses with some punches.

Malone throws an elbow that misses.
Maldini prevents a body shot from Malone.

Maldini breaks the clinch.
Maldini moves forwards but Malone connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Malone drops Maldini with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Maldini looks back up at him and smiles so Malone waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

It looks like Giuseppe Maldini has been cut.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Malone has cracked Maldini with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Malone lands another huge swinging hook and Maldini tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Maldini, before Malone can land any more shots!
