PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kazushi Yakuza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pate Perhana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Yakuza might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Galang Gal. Pate Perhana is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kazushi Yakuza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pate Perhana!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Johanna Lukiainen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perhana on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Yakuza. Yakuza obviously looking to wear him down.
Yakuza thows a left - swing and a miss!
Perhana lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Yakuza at a distance.
Yakuza throws a looping overhand right but Perhana ducks down to avoid it.
Perhana takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Perhana throws a leg kick that is checked
and Yakuza counters with a two punch combo.
Yakuza feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Perhana's calf.
Donk. Perhana catches Yakuza right on the button with a cross.
Perhana slips a jab and a cross from Yakuza.
Perhana misses with a jab, cross combination.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Perhana shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Yakuza pinned against the cage. Yakuza gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Yakuza seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Perhana misses with a body shot.
We've been told by Yakuza's head coaches at Cutthroat that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Yakuza scores with a sloppy right hand. Perhana should have avoided that one.
Perhana throws a series of punches but Yakuza moves out of range.
We've been informed that Perhana has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Yakuza connects with a body shot that sends Perhana's belly button to the back.
Perhana moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Yakuza throws a lazy uppercut
and Perhana counters with a nice uppercut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Perhana tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Yakuza getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Yakuza swings for the body but Perhana moves out of range.
Yakuza takes a swing at Perhana's ribcage but misses.
Yakuza backing away here, and Perhana unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Perhana moves away from the strike by Yakuza.
Perhana is looking for the big counter here.
Perhana misses the shot to the body.
Perhana takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Perhana wants to clinch
letting Yakuza counter with a right hand.
Perhana throws a right hand that Yakuza ducks under and follows up with a left that Yakuza also avoids with ease.
Good standup being displayed there by Yakuza as he connects with a hook.
Yakuza thows a left - swing and a miss!
Perhana ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Perhana misses with a right hand

and Yakuza holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
A short uppercut from Yakuza.


It looks like Pate Perhana has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Perhana lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Yakuza or not.
Yakuza misses with a short punch on the inside.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Perhana jumps into guard, dragging Yakuza to the mat.
Perhana tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Yakuza trying to control the position from guard on top but Perhana is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Yakuza knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Perhana on the ground.

Perhana is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Yakuza rolls with it to try and escape but Perhana cranks on the arm and Yakuza is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Pate Perhana!
Pate Perhana decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
