The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gomez closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hazar quickly recovers to half guard.
Hazar is looking to escape.

Gomez seems to be looking for submissions.
Gomez working over Hazar with some ground and pound. Hazar looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Gomez is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hazar tries to kick Gomez off in order to stand up. Gomez Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Hazar wants to get back to his feet.
Hazar is not content to let Gomez control the position.
Hazar takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
