Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Risto Korpisuo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Lakanik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Korpisuo comes to the cage accompanied by Eläkeläiset - Humpparaakki. John Lakanik has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 30 - 1, fighting out of New York, Risto Korpisuo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 16 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Lakanik!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Russell Pearce and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lakanik tries to close the distance and clinch but Korpisuo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Lakanik has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Lakanik throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Lakanik has closed the distance and engaged Korpisuo in a clinch.
Korpisuo has Lakanik pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Lakanik manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Lakanik has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Lakanik is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Korpisuo is staying active.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Lakanik checks a leg kick.

Risto Korpisuo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
No luck for Lakanik with that takedown attempt.
Lakanik throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Risto Korpisuo.
I think Lakanik has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
