Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ed Burke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Drew Tyrone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Drew Tyrone has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Ed Burke's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ed Burke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Drew Tyrone!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Micheangelo Fripello and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burke scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Tyrone throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Burke was covering up waiting for the punch and Tyrone finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Burke escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Tyrone gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Tyrone is looking to work some ground and pound but Burke has wrist control.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Burke tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Tyrone manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Drew Tyrone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Burke fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Tyrone looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Tyrone looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Tyrone is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Tyrone pushes down on Burke's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Tyrone is looking to take a break and control but Burke is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Burke moves into range and clinches up with Tyrone.

Tyrone is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Burke's shoulder. That is not cool.
Drew Tyrone has got the better of the ground game so far.
Burke manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Burke wants to control but Tyrone is keeping busy.
Burke is concentrating on defense, preventing Tyrone from advancing position.

Burke has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tyrone can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Burke is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Burke is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Burke throws his legs up looking for a submission but Tyrone uses it to pass to side control.

Tyrone stands up and beckons Burke to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Drew Tyrone showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Tyrone shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Burke napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Burke tries to bench press Tyrone off him but Tyrone keeps the position.
You can see the frustration on Burke's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Burke explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Tyrone wants to hit a switch here but Burke passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Tyrone there!

Burke is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Tyrone has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Burke postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Tyrone looks a forlorn figure.
Burke sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Burke is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Tyrone to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Tyrone shrugs it off.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Ed Burke showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Tyrone has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A less than humble Drew Tyrone misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
