Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 22 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, John McNamara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 33 - 2, fighting out of Sydney, Keiji Numa!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Ben Hemmingworth and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Numa doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Numa slips under a jab from McNamara.
As McNamara backs off Numa throws a huge counter combo but McNamara manages to avoid it all.
John McNamara seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McNamara throws a hook but Numa blocks it.
Numa feints the counter takedown.

Numa feints and as McNamara raises his hands in defense, Numa changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Numa wants to control from the top but McNamara keeps moving.
Numa looking to pass the guard.
McNamara wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Numa postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! McNamara is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Numa, into his guard.


Numa looking for a guillotine here but McNamara defends easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

McNamara is posturing up here but Numa has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! McNamara tries to roll out but it's too tight and McNamara has to tap! Slick submission there by Numa!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Keiji Numa!
Keiji Numa seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
