Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roberto Blanco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Butch Copeland (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Copeland has chosen A Country Boy Can Survive as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roberto Blanco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Butch Copeland!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Copeland takes one to the chin there.
Blanco circles away from the clinch attempt.
Blanco bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Copeland's head.
No luck for Blanco with that takedown attempt.
Copeland takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Copeland darts in looking for a takedown but Blanco gets double underhooks and turns Copeland into the cage.
Nice defenses there by Blanco.
Blanco throws a jab when Copeland was well out of range.
Blanco dives in and grabs Copeland's left leg, looking for a takedown. Copeland pushes down on Blanco's head and hops out.
Copeland ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Blanco stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Copeland's coach down at The Fortress of Solitude was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Copeland's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Blanco's corner calls for a 1-2. Blanco obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Blanco shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Copeland defends it nicely.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Copeland has Blanco pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Copeland pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Blanco tumbling to the mat - Copeland dives into Blanco's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Copeland tries to free his leg and advance position but Blanco is retaining full guard.

Copeland is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Blanco is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Blanco has escaped and now he's on top!


Copeland escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Blanco gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Butch Copeland has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Blanco is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Blanco, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
