Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Santos!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Dean Styles and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Pearsson.
Pearsson content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Pearsson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
You can see the frustration on Santos's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Santos shoots in looking for a takedown. Pearsson tries to sprawl out of it but Santos keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pearsson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Pearsson throws a nice looking combination but Santos bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Santos decides to stand back up. Santos steps back and let's Pearsson get back to his feet.

and Santos counters with a three punch combo that has Pearsson backing up. Pearsson nods at Santos to acknowledge the strikes.

Pearsson attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Santos lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Santos throws a series of punches but Pearsson moves out of range.

and Santos counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Pearsson's guard now.
Pearsson wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Santos is now in half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Santos connects with a nice short shot to Pearsson's temple.
Pearsson wants to control but Santos is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Pearsson tries to roll over but Santos keeps him under control.

Santos is just content to waste time from the top position. Pearsson takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Pearsson wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Santos is now in half guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Santos lands a nice short elbow.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Santos is thwarting Pearsson's attempts to control the position.
Still in half guard, Santos seems content to control.
Pearsson is trying to control but Santos passes into side control!
Santos is staying tight to Pearsson's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Santos's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Pearsson tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Santos manages to move to mount!
Santos thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Santos lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Santos tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Santos avoids the attempt from Pearsson to control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Pearsson looks to throw a body kick

and Santos counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Pearsson's guard now.

Pearsson isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Santos stacks Pearsson on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Santos!

John Santos comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Santos has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
