And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, David Hoff and Dirk Anderson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Awimowe with a lazy takedown attempt
and Awimowe takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Awimowe has Ruell up against the cage in a clinch.
Ruell pressing his opponent against the cage.
Awimowe is trying to pull guard but Ruell has him pressed against the cage.
Awimowe tries to pull guard but Ruell holds him up against the cage and eventually Awimowe drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tukunbo Awimowe. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ruell on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Awimowe tries to pull guard but Ruell won't allow it.

Ruell lands a right hand that snaps the head of Awimowe backwards.
Ruell lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Ruell lands a left hand.
Awimowe is looking to break free of the clinch but Ruell has double underhooks.
Awimowe jumps guard but Ruell turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Awimowe is looking for a takedown.
Ruell scores with a shot to the side of Awimowe's head.

Awimowe is rocked!
Ruell lands a body punch in the clinch.

Awimowe escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ruell will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Awimowe tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Ruell manages to circle out of the way.
Awimowe has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Awimowe there as he acknowledges the shot.
Oh Awimowe is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ruell dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Tukunbo Awimowe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Awimowe misses with a takedown attempt

and Ruell counters with a nice right hand that sends Awimowe toppling to the canvas! Awimowe scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Ruell finish him?!

This has been an exciting period of action!
Awimowe leaves his chin hanging out and Ruell seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Awimowe crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
