Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Russel Richards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Munch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Richards comes to the cage accompanied by Meytal Cohen - Toxicity. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Russel Richards!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Munch!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Munch drives through and clinches with Richards against the cage.
Richards has Munch pressed against the cage, preventing Munch from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Munch fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Richards fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Richards prevents Munch from breaking the clinch.
Richards fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Richards swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Munch blocks a punch to the side of the head.
A frustrated look appears on Munch's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Munch jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Richards walks away with a smile on his face. Munch gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Munch gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Munch throws a right and a left that both miss.
Richards leaves Munch with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Richards throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Munch looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Richards is fending him off so far but Munch persists. Nope, Richards circles away and we're back to standing.
Russel Richards has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Munch.
Richards shoots for a takedown but Munch saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Some wild striking there from Munch.
Richards goes for a double leg but Munch avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Munch continues to drive forward.
Richards thuds his right hand into Munch's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Munch shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Richards clinches.
Munch has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Richards avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Richards lands a nice uppercut.

Munch breaks from the clinch.
Richards connects with a leg kick. Munch looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Richards misses with a hook to the body
and Richards takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Munch closes the distance and pushes Richards back into the cage.
Munch wants to break the clinch but can't.
Munch using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Richards has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Richards fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Munch blocking some punches.
Munch is trying to drag Richards to the mat but Richards just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Munch wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Munch prevents a body shot from Richards.
Richards lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Richards looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Munch has had enough of the clinch but Richards keeps him there for the moment.
Munch tries a knee to the head but Richards blocks it.
Munch wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Munch pressing his opponent against the cage.
Munch misses with a body punch.
Richards keeps control of Munch as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Munch wants to stall.
Richards lands on the inside with an uppercut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Richards lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Munch.
Munch tries to break free but Richards pushes him back against the cage.
Munch prevents a body shot from Richards.
Richards works on Munch's body with a couple of short punches.
Munch looks winded!
Richards lands a left hand.
Richards lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Munch backwards.


Munch is rocked!
Richards cracks Munch with a nice body shot.
Munch is still on wobbly legs! Can Richards finish him?
Richards throws a punch but it's blocked by Munch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Richards.
Richards swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Richards throws a head punch that misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Munch tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Richards just stands there and leans against the cage.
Munch is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
A right hand to the body from Richards.
Richards misses with a punch on the inside.
Richards misses with a short punch on the inside.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Richards.
Richards stops a takedown attempt from Munch.
Richards misses with some punches.
Richards creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Munch's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Munch drops to his knees and Richards pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Russel Richards!
During a confident post fight interview, Russel Richards thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
