Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Williams Harrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Davis has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Williams Harrison's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Williams Harrison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Davis!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Donatello Bradman and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harrison slips a jab and a cross from Davis.
Harrison drops down looking for a counter takedown but Davis sprawls and moves away.
Harrison blocks a head kick by Davis.
Harrison is looking to counter with head kicks.
Harrison shoots in looking for a takedown but Davis manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Harrison's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Davis lands with a thumping leg kick.

Davis has managed to clinch.
A short right from Davis on the inside.
Harrison tries to pull guard but Davis forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
A head punch on the inside from Harrison fails to land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Harrison jumps guard but Davis turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Williams Harrison. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Davis is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Harrison defends well.
Davis is pulling down on Harrison's head to control his posture.
Davis is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Davis is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Davis has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Harrison can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Harrison won't allow Davis to sweep him here.
Davis is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Harrison throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Davis works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Davis wants to get back to his feet but Harrison drags him back down.
Davis regains half guard.
Davis is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Davis is trying to control but can't.
Davis wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Davis slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Harrison really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Harrison stays in close to Davis's body and controls the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Good leg kick by Davis there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Davis dominated that round.
That's time! Harrison's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Harrison goes for a double leg but Davis avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Davis continues to drive forward.

Davis is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Harrison's half guard.
Davis seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Harrison does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Harrison wants to get back to full guard.

Davis is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Davis is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Davis is thwarting Harrison's attempts to control the position.
Davis is taking a breather. Harrison says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Davis tries to pass the half guard into mount. Harrison knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Harrison is looking for a sweep. Davis is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Davis connects with a nice short shot to Harrison's temple.
Davis tries to pass the half guard into mount. Harrison knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Harrison keeping hold of Davis's head, controlling as best he can.
Davis winds up and cracks Harrison with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Harrison is trying to maintain the position but Davis is very close to passing his half guard.
Davis has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Harrison gets back to full guard.

Davis thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Davis drops back, looking for a kneebar! Harrison looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Harrison looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Harrison!

Davis tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Harrison wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Davis is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Davis missing with punches from the bottom.
Harrison is keen to just control but Davis is a slippery customer.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Harrison looks to land a strike but Davis avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
James Davis has got the better of the ground game so far.
Davis wants to sweep here but Harrison controlling him for the moment.

Harrison decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Davis scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Harrison avoids the head kick by Davis.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Davis throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Davis clinches up against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Davis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Davis lands with a right hand.
Davis smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Davis misses with a straight right.
Harrison thinks about countering with a body kick.
Davis's corner calls for a 1-2. Davis obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.


Harrison is rocked!
Davis circles away from the clinch attempt

and Davis counters with a big slam followed by a series of strikes - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Slam). James Davis!
