Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Porfirio Garrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Primer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Porfirio Garrison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bob Primer!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Primer misses with a low kick.
Garrison is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Primer.
Primer shoots in for a double leg but Garrison sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Primer has Garrison up against the cage in a clinch.
Garrison really is a fat lump.
Primer is trying to break free.
Nice body punch from Primer.

Primer escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Primer rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Garrison moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Danga de danga de dang - Primer scores with a four punch combination!
Primer throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Garrison counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Primer!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Garrison decides to stand back up. Garrison steps back and let's Primer get back to his feet.
Primer pushes Garrison away with a front kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Primer fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Garrison on the side of the head.
Primer connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Primer clinches.
Primer landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Garrison is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Primer is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Garrison managing to block the knees to the body from Primer.
Garrison keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Primer's efforts to push away.
Garrison keeps control of Primer as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Primer can't break the clinch.

Garrison breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Primer moves into range and clinches up with Garrison.
Primer lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Primer tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Garrison can't get the takedown.
Primer tries to pull guard but Garrison won't allow it.
Garrison has Primer pressed against the cage, preventing Primer from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Garrison wants to break free but Primer has control.
Primer is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Garrison gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Porfirio Garrison has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bob Primer.

Primer jumps into guard, dragging Garrison to the mat.
Garrison wants to stand but Primer has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Garrison stands up from guard. Let's bang!
A slow jab from Primer misses its intended target.
Garrison attempts a counter takedown but Primer avoids it well and moves away.
Primer keeps the fight on the outside.

Primer has managed to clinch.
Primer wants to break free but Garrison has control.

Primer pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Primer throws a combination. Garrison tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Primer moves into range and clinches up with Garrison.

Primer throws a leg kick that is checked

and Garrison counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Garrison.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Garrison wants to get up but he can't break Primer's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Garrison gets to his feet. Primer looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Primer looks winded!

Garrison pushes Primer up against the cage in a clinch.
Garrison has had enough of the clinch but Primer keeps him there for the moment.
Garrison keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Primer's efforts to push away.

Garrison pulls Primer into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Primer dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


A head kick misses from Primer.
And Garrison counters with a quick kick to the body but Primer blocks it.
Primer throws a left and a right that both miss

and Garrison moves into the clinch.
Garrison blocks the elbow strike.
Primer misses with a punch to the body.
Garrison tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Primer wants to break the clinch but can't.

Garrison pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Garrison swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

Primer instigates a clinch.

Garrison gets control of Primer's arms and successfully pulls guard. Garrison will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Garrison is looking for a triangle but Primer pushes his legs off easily.
Primer missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Garrison has momentary wrist control but Primer slips an elbow through the middle.

Garrison has his foot on Primer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Primer works his way back into a safe position though.

Garrison working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Primer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Primer manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Garrison is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Garrison escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Primer gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Primer advances to half guard.
Primer scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Garrison has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Primer is working away from the top position though.
Garrison on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Primer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Garrison keeps working.

Garrison is concentrating on defense, preventing Primer from advancing position.
Primer is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Primer trying to control from half guard but Garrison is working away.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Bob Primer is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Primer swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A quick step to the side and Garrison tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Primer throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Primer just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromGarrison.
Primer is breathing heavily.
Primer throws a big shot that misses.
Garrison wants to clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Primer does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Garrison wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Bob Primer seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Garrison closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Garrison slows the pace down in half guard.

Primer has one foot on Garrison's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Primer misses with a leg kick.
Garrison feinted with a counter takedown.
Primer throws a head kick that misses.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Garrison tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Primer manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Garrison uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Primer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Primer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Garrison tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Primer paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Bob Primer seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.
Garrison lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Primer throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Garrison jumps into guard, dragging Primer to the mat.
Garrison is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Porfirio Garrison overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Garrison seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Primer got a little sloppy there for a moment and Garrison has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Primer has managed to get both his arms back between Garrison's legs - danger averted.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Garrison wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

and Garrison counters with a single leg into guard. Primer didn't expect that.

Garrison thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Garrison would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Bob Primer is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Porfirio Garrison.
I think Primer has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
