Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Porter Blevins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aron Tempe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aron Tempe has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Porter Blevins's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Porter Blevins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Aron Tempe!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Josh West and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tempe changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Blevins looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tempe taking a break here but Blevins is having none of it and regains half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Blevins is not content to let Tempe control the position.
Blevins really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Blevins is looking to escape.
Well, if Tempe is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Tempe working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Blevins is refusing to be controlled, as Tempe sits in half guard.

Blevins tries to kick Tempe off but Tempe keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Aron Tempe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tempe doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Blevins counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Tempe shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Blevins pinned against the cage. Blevins gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Blevins misses with an elbow from the bottom.

Blevins tries to buck Tempe off but Tempe is having none of it.

Tempe should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Blevins is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Tempe is controlling him well.
Tempe cracks Blevins with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Blevins pushes Tempe away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Tempe gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Blevins bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Tempe doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Blevins counters with a two punch combo.
Porter Blevins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aron Tempe.

Tempe looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Tempe looks winded!
Blevins is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Tempe scores with a couple of nice shots.

Tempe prevents Blevins from standing back up.

Tempe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Blevins. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Aron Tempe dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Tempe throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Blevins was covering up waiting for the punch and Tempe finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Tempe is working Blevins over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Blevins working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tempe doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tempe manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Blevins looking for a guillotine here but Tempe defends easily.

Tempe is working Blevins over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Tempe not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Blevins seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Tempe tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Blevins defends well and Tempe ends up having to push Blevins into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Tempe closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Blevins to the mat! Blevins manages to get full guard.
Tempe is breathing heavily.

Blevins is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Tempe presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Blevins tries for a takedown. No joy.

Porter Blevins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aron Tempe.

Tempe shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Blevins manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Blevins is working an open guard so Tempe takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Tempe will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Blevins takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Tempe creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Blevins is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Tempe has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Blevins tries to strike from the bottom but misses.
Blevins is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Aron Tempe showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Tempe is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Tempe shoots in looking for a takedown but Blevins manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Tempe's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Tempe has picked Blevins up - he's going for a ride! Tempe dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Blevins is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Tempe scores with a couple of nice shots.

Tempe is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Blevins pushes Tempe off looking to stand but Tempe dives back in and keeps control.
Blevins is not content to let Tempe control the position.
Tempe slows the pace down in half guard.
Tempe seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Blevins is trying to stand.

Blevins flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Blevins looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Tempe pushes past his half guard into mount!
Blevins is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Blevins is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
Blevins is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Tempe controlling the position easily from mount.
Tempe won't let Blevins get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Aron Tempe is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Tempe has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Tempe takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Porter Blevins has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
