PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brock Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladimir Malianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lesnar kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Brock Lesnar. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Malianenko closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Malianenko comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Malianenko tries to score a body lock takedown but Lesnar shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lesnar has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Malianenko can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Lesnar has his foot on Malianenko's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Malianenko works his way back into a safe position though.

Lesnar had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Malianenko is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Lesnar Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Malianenko's back instead.

Malianenko rolls, trying to escape but Lesnar keeps control of the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Lesnar looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Malianenko is fending him off so far but Lesnar persists. Nope, Malianenko circles away and we're back to standing.
Lesnar takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Vladimir Malianenko is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Lesnar changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Malianenko looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Malianenko manages to work his way to half guard, despite Lesnar's best efforts.
Malianenko is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lesnar connects with a nice short shot to Malianenko's temple.
