The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dougan tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hatfield manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Hatfield tries to counter with a takedown but Dougan is quick to defend against it.
Dougan ducks under a wild hook from Hatfield.
Hatfield tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Dougan feints the counter takedown.

Dougan closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Hatfield's guard.
Dougan stands and throws Hatfield's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Hatfield is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Dougan has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hatfield manages to work his way to half guard, despite Dougan's best efforts.
Dougan is taking a breather. Hatfield says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Hatfield is trying to get back to full guard.
Dougan lands with a punch from half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Dougan lands a nice short elbow.

Hatfield is rocked!
Dougan scores with a big shot! Hatfield's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Hatfield! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
