Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bo Bo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Santiago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bo Bo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Santiago!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Columbo Gatti and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bo tries to clinch up but Santiago circles away and keeps his distance.

Santiago gets a takedown into half guard.
Bo wants to improve his position but Santiago is controlling well.
Santiago is trying to control the action in half guard but Bo is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Santiago is pressing down on Bo's thigh, looking to free his foot. Bo is holding on for now.

Santiago seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Santiago decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Santiago is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bo doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Santiago.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Bo is looking to clinch but Santiago is avoiding it.

Santiago fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bo sprawls well initially but Santiago persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

What's Bo going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.

Bo bucks up and tries to throw Santiago off but instead Santiago has got his back!

I really don't envy Bo right now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Bo wants to escape the position.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Santiago cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Bo tries to reverse the position but Santiago maintains control.
Santiago wants to control the pace but Bo is squirming around nicely.
Santiago prevents Bo from getting the reversal.
Santiago is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Bo tries to hold on but Santiago pushes him away.
Bo tries to reverse the position but Santiago maintains control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chris Santiago showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!



Santiago shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Santiago showed some decent athleticism there.
Bo is pressing down on Santiago's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Bo throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Santiago escapes and throws Bo's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Bo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Santiago wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Santiago thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Santiago wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bo, who protects the arm well.

Bo has one foot on Santiago's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Santiago drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Bo gets back to half guard.

Bo Bo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Santiago's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Bo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Santiago gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Bo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Santiago doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Santiago manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Bo has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Santiago has passed into side control.

Santiago works to advance to full mount. Bo defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Bo tries to reverse the position but Santiago maintains control.

Bo bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Chris Santiago is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Santiago holds on and takes a little breather.

I would just about give that final round to Chris Santiago.
Well Santiago has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
