The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wong gets tackled into the cage by Rutten. Rutten maintains the clinch.
Wong is looking to take this one to the mat.
Rutten wants to get back to striking at distance but Wong won't allow it.
Wong wants to take the fight to the mat but Rutten manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Rutten's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Wong blocks a head kick by Rutten.

Wong shoots in and bounces Rutten off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Wong sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Wong loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wong throws an elbow that misses. Rutten uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Wong's guard. Nice move by Rutten!

Rutten gets to his feet. Wong looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Rutten punishes Wong's body with a nice straight punch.
Rutten throws a body punch but Wong moves out of range.
Rutten misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rutten lands with a slapping head kick.

It looks like Jon Wong has been cut.
Rutten lands a high kick!
Rutten lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Rutten lands with a good body shot.

Rutten clinches up against the cage.
Rutten is looking to break free of the clinch but Wong has double underhooks.

Rutten wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Rutten looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Wong could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Wong manages to break the clinch.

Rutten gets in close and instigates a clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Wong is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Rutten breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rutten throws a head kick that Wong semi-blocks.
Rutten lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Wong is rocked!
Rutten feints a jab and as Wong dips his head, Rutten unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Wong right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Wong falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Rutten smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.
