Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Montgomery Nagendra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Red Belt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Nagendra might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Mozart - Lacrimosa. Belt has chosen Dance of the Knights as his entrance music. Montgomery Nagendra had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 23 - 0, fighting out of London, Montgomery Nagendra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 17 - 0, fighting out of London, Red Belt!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, James Ackerman and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Belt scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Belt thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Belt is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Nagendra defends it well.
Nagendra controlling the position for now.

Belt is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Nagendra holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nagendra is looking for a sweep. Belt is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Nagendra wants to control but Belt is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Belt had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Nagendra defends it easily.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Nagendra seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Belt for as long as he can get away with.

Belt is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Nagendra wants to get back to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Belt is working for a submission of some sort.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Belt goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Nagendra rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Belt's guard! Nice work there by Nagendra!

Belt working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nagendra doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nagendra manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Nagendra is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Nagendra's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Nagendra seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Belt is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Nagendra pulls his head out easily.
Belt tries to roll over but Nagendra keeps him under control.

Belt feints and as Nagendra raises his hands in defense, Belt changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Belt sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Nagendra's guard.

Nagendra manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Belt manages to get himself to full guard.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



A momentary lapse in concentration from Belt enables Nagendra to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Belt manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Belt has his foot on Nagendra's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nagendra works his way back into a safe position though.

Belt seems to be working for a kimura but Nagendra defends the submission attempt.
Belt is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Nagendra is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Belt's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Belt's back!
Nagendra is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Nagendra slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Red Belt is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Nagendra has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Belt looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Montgomery Nagendra showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Belt has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
