The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Benton is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Miles's half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Benton in particular looking to stall.
Benton is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Benton has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Miles's face.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Miles forces Benton back against the cage and clinches.

Miles is fighting off a takedown attempt but Benton is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Miles to the mat. Miles regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Benton is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Miles looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Benton has picked Miles up and slammed him! Miles can't keep hold of the triangle and Benton manages to pass to side control!
Miles might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Miles is looking to regain half guard here but Benton keeps moving and retains side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Benton wants to get up but he can't break Miles's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Miles has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Benton has passed into side control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Miles is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Benton is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
