Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Craig Roman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ingo Dammaschke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Craig Roman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ingo Dammaschke!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Daniel Blasius and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roman connects with a body shot.
Dammaschke circles away from the clinch attempt.

Roman tries to keep at a distance but Dammaschke has taken the fight into the clinch.

Roman has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Dammaschke clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Roman not allowing Dammaschke to control his hands.
Dammaschke is trying to break free.
Dammaschke just looking to survive in the bad position.
Dammaschke manages to reverse the position and now he's in Roman's guard. Nice work there by Dammaschke.
Dammaschke must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Roman working for submissions but it's allowed Dammaschke to get to half guard.

Roman kicks off Dammaschke and gets to his feet.
Roman could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Dammaschke throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Dammaschke closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Dammaschke tries to stand and escape but Roman is controlling the position.

Dammaschke postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Roman to stand up.
Roman stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Roman wants it to stay on the feet.
Roman swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Roman fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Dammaschke closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dammaschke has Roman pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Roman manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Roman tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Roman gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Dammaschke is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Roman is aware though and is defending well.

Dammaschke controls Roman momentarily but Roman frees himself.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Roman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Dammaschke wants to stand and escape but Roman is having none of it.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Roman distracts Dammaschke with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Roman throws a big right hand that misses.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Roman throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Dammaschke looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Dammaschke shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Craig Roman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ingo Dammaschke.
Dammaschke pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Dammaschke shoots in looking for a takedown. Roman tries to sprawl out of it but Dammaschke keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Roman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Roman is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Dammaschke.
Roman shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Despite the aggression on Dammaschke's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Dammaschke misses with a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Craig Roman will probably get the nod.

Dammaschke is looking to clinch but Roman is avoiding it.
Roman appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Roman feints and as Dammaschke raises his hands in defense, Roman changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Roman stands up from Dammaschke's guard - Roman perhaps looking for a knockout.
Dammaschke scores with a kick to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dammaschke gets a clinch.
Roman is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Roman is trying to drag Dammaschke to the mat but Dammaschke just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Roman misses with some punches.

Dammaschke jumps into guard, dragging Roman to the mat.

Dammaschke's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Craig Roman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Dammaschke is trying to keep Roman in close.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Roman with a flurry of punches that miss.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dammaschke looking to control.
Dammaschke has control of Roman's left arm, preventing Roman from doing any damage.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Dammaschke closes the distance and clinches.

Dammaschke pushes Roman back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Dammaschke blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Roman.
Roman slowing the pace effectively.

Dammaschke wants the takedown. Roman is fighting it off but Dammaschke persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Roman's guard against the cage.

Dammaschke tries to free his leg and advance position but Roman is retaining full guard.
Dammaschke throws an elbow that misses. Roman uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dammaschke's guard. Nice move by Roman!

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Roman won't allow Dammaschke to sweep him here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Ingo Dammaschke will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Dammaschke misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Roman misses with a takedown attempt
and Dammaschke counters with a left and a right that stings Roman.
Roman misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Dammaschke.
Roman shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dammaschke defends it nicely.

Dammaschke tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Roman defends well and Dammaschke ends up having to push Roman into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Roman tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Dammaschke manages to circle out of the way.
Dammaschke shoots in for a takedown but Roman shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Craig Roman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ingo Dammaschke.

Roman scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Roman is chipping away with strikes.
Dammaschke defending against the ground and pound.
Roman tries to move to mount but Dammaschke blocks the move with his legs.

Dammaschke explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Dammaschke keeps the fight on the outside.

A head kick by Dammaschke misses
and Roman counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Dammaschke is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Dammaschke takes the fight into the clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Dammaschke breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Dammaschke!
Dammaschke goes for a double leg but Roman avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Roman continues to drive forward.

Roman shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dammaschke napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Roman stands up.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Roman.
Dammaschke keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Dammaschke closes the distance and clinches.

Dammaschke decides to pull guard.
Dammaschke manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Roman manages to get himself to full guard.

Dammaschke wants to pass the guard but Roman is keeping the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Ingo Dammaschke.
I think Dammaschke has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
