The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Almeida fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Lee checks it well.
Lee has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Foundations: Rio in the buildup to the fight.

Almeida connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Almeida scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Lee looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Lee has the hooks in. Almeida is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Lee walks straight into a right hand from Almeida - that's dropped him! Almeida jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Lee from any more punishment! Lee complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
