The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewis works Mullins's body with a nice hook.

Lewis shoots in and gets a takedown into Mullins's guard.

Lewis decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Lewis throws a right and a left that both miss.

and Mullins counters with a left and a right that stings Lewis.
Mullins's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Mullins duly obliges.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Lewis bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Mullins managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Lewis.
Mullins tries to escape but Lewis is in control.

Lewis slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Lewis decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Lewis fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Mullins to the ground. Lewis is now in Mullins's guard.

Lewis throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Lewis appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.

Mullins tries to keep at a distance but Lewis has taken the fight into the clinch.

Lewis wants the takedown. Mullins is fighting it off but Lewis persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Mullins's guard against the cage.
Lewis is pushing down on Mullins's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mullins is fighting to maintain full guard but Lewis has managed to sneak the leg through.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lewis seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mullins does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Lewis decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Mullins shoots in and drives through. Lewis sprawls well.
Lewis is looking to clinch but Mullins is avoiding it.
Lewis lands a body shot.
Mullins wants to clinch up but Lewis keeps it at a distance.

Lewis closes the distance and clinches.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lewis wants the takedown. Mullins is fighting it off but Lewis persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Mullins's guard against the cage.

Lewis looking to sit in guard and control but Mullins gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Lewis pulls Mullins in to control the position.

Lewis has his feet on Mullins's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Mullins tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lewis sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mullins somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Floyd Mullins. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lewis takes the fight into the clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lewis keeps control of Mullins as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Mullins tries to sprawl but Lewis drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Lewis has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Lewis loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Mullins scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Lewis land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Lewis stands and salutes the crowd.
