Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Valentin Shovkovskyj!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kevin Cronin!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, David Hoff and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shovkovskyj avoids the head kick by Cronin.
Cronin darts in and clinches Shovkovskyj up against the cage.
Cronin tries to pull guard but Shovkovskyj won't allow it.
Cronin tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Shovkovskyj smiles and moves away.
Cronin falls off balance throwing a combination
and Shovkovskyj counters with a takedown into side control.
Cronin tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Shovkovskyj wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Shovkovskyj is working to tighten his grip on Cronin's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Cronin has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Shovkovskyj is really squeezing tight and eventually Cronin passes out! Shovkovskyj breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
