PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paddy McCall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raditos Putranho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Putranho has chosen Forever Young as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Paddy McCall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Raditos Putranho!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Putranho darts in looking for a takedown but McCall gets double underhooks and turns Putranho into the cage.
No joy there for McCall, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
McCall ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
A jab lands there for McCall.
McCall misses with an uppercut.
Putranho tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Putranho doesn't succeed with the takedown
and McCall counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Putranho shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McCall but McCall pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Paddy McCall has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raditos Putranho.
McCall lands with a nice body punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Putranho has a takedown stuffed.
McCall definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
McCall scores with a nice right hand.
Paddy McCall is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Putranho shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
McCall misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Putranho.
Putranho fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

McCall has closed the distance and engaged Putranho in a clinch.
Putranho is looking to take this one to the mat.
The referee is keeping an eye on McCall - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

McCall has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Putranho regains guard immediately.
McCall controlling from the top position.
Putranho keeping moving, preventing McCall from controlling successfully.
McCall knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Putranho on the ground.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McCall wants to pass the guard but Putranho is keeping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Putranho can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as McCall controls the pace.
Putranho is trying to keep McCall in close.
McCall wants to get up but he can't break Putranho's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
McCall trying to control but Putranho is working from the bottom.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Putranho looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

McCall got a little sloppy there for a moment and Putranho has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McCall has managed to get both his arms back between Putranho's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McCall tries to free his leg and advance position but Putranho is retaining full guard.

Putranho is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! McCall rolls with it to try and escape but Putranho cranks on the arm and McCall is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Raditos Putranho!
Raditos Putranho gave a mention to Darkness in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
