Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Fredrick Lancaster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Kopp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fredrick Lancaster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dave Kopp!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Columbo Gatti and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kopp moves into range and clinches up with Lancaster.
Lancaster is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Kopp pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Lancaster creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Kopp pulls guard.
Kopp controlling the position.
Lancaster is looking to work some ground and pound but Kopp has wrist control.
Kopp working a defensive guard but Lancaster passes into half guard.
Kopp is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Lancaster throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kopp gets full guard.
Lancaster preventing the sweep.
Lancaster postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lancaster stops Kopp from standing up.

Kopp isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Lancaster stacks Kopp on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Lancaster!
Kopp tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Lancaster presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Kopp is trying desperately to improve position.
Lancaster is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Kopp can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Lancaster looking to finish with strikes here!
Kopp is wriggling around trying to escape.
Kopp wants to hold on but Lancaster pushes him away.
Lancaster throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Kopp holds of for dear life.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Kopp keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Kopp is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Kopp sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Lancaster is thwarting Kopp's attempts to control the position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kopp gets full guard.
Lancaster is working Kopp over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Kopp looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Kopp is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lancaster is controlling him.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Kopp decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Fredrick Lancaster will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Kopp shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kopp was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Kopp is looking to take a break and control but Lancaster is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kopp decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Kopp missing with a left hand there. Lancaster was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lancaster showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kopp.
Lancaster went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Kopp misses with a low kick.

Lancaster tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kopp swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Lancaster shoots in looking for a takedown but Kopp manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lancaster's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Lancaster tries to sprawl but Kopp drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Lancaster is staying active underneath Kopp, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Kopp has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Lancaster is looking to improve his position.
Kopp keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Kopp lands strikes from half guard.
Kopp works his way into side control.
Kopp misses with the ground and pound.
Kopp controls the position.
Kopp scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Lancaster to see if he's OK.
Kopp wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lancaster keeps working.

Lancaster takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Lancaster really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Kopp grinds an elbow into Lancaster's temple.
Lancaster is letting Kopp control him for a moment.
Kopp tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Kopp is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Lancaster has escaped the position, nice work there.
Lancaster taking a bit of punishment here - Kopp scoring with strikes.

Kopp wants to stand but Lancaster has his arm trapped.
Kopp tries to score with some ground and pound. Lancaster controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Kopp grinds an elbow into Lancaster's temple.

Kopp is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lancaster is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kopp is chipping away with strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dave Kopp showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Kopp clinches up with Lancaster and pushes him back against the cage.

Kopp pulls guard successfully.
Lancaster working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Kopp controlling the position.
Kopp working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Lancaster.
Kopp really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lancaster. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kopp drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Lancaster takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Lancaster prevents Kopp from improving position.
You can see the frustration on Lancaster's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Kopp wants to stand but Lancaster has him controlled and pulls him back into his guard.
Dave Kopp has got the better of the ground game so far.
Kopp throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Kopp wants to pass the guard but Lancaster is keeping the position.
Kopp wants to control from the top but Lancaster keeps moving.
Kopp wants to stand but Lancaster has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Kopp controls from within his opponent's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Lancaster gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Lancaster can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kopp controls the pace.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Kopp trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Lancaster manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Dave Kopp comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kopp has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
