Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Heriberto Nichols (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Gold (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Simon Gold has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Ivan Kurochkin and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gold changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nichols looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Nichols sneaks back into half guard.
Gold wants to stand up but Nichols is controlling the position.
Gold is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gold wants to stand and escape but instead Nichols has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Gold has a closed guard, preventing Nichols from standing up.
Nichols will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Nichols stands up from Gold's guard - Nichols perhaps looking for a knockout.
Gold clinches.
Nichols has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Gold avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Nichols breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gold pushes Nichols up against the cage in a clinch.

Gold is trying to force a seperation but Nichols has the dominant position.
Gold manages to pull guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gold is adopting a defensive guard.
Gold looking for a sweep. Not yet Gold, not yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gold is looking to stand up but Nichols isn't so interested in that idea.
Nichols stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Nichols takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Nichols takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Gold throws out a loose jab but Nichols uses good head movement to avoid it.
Nichols attempts a counter takedown but Gold avoids it well and moves away.
Gold rushes Nichols and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Gold lands a left hand that snaps the head of Nichols backwards.
A frustrated look appears on Gold's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Nichols really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Nichols has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Gold after a bit of a struggle.
Gold is defending well against a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Heriberto Nichols. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nichols has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Gold wants to get back to striking at distance but Nichols won't allow it.
Nichols breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Nichols takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Gold tries to bum rush Nichols with a series of wild strikes but Nichols uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

A telegraphed right hand from Nichols misses the target.
Gold scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Nice body punch from Gold.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gold darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Gold wants to advance to full mount but Nichols doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Nichols has a closed guard, preventing Gold from standing up.
Gold postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Simon Gold dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Nichols takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
A left and a right from Gold both land. Nice combination.
Nichols is rocked!
It looks like Heriberto Nichols has been cut.
Nichols is sent reeling backwards by a solid uppercut. He barely regains his balance and Gold moves in for the kill throwing a continuous barrage of punches that force the ref to step in.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:16 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Simon Gold!
