PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mille Muuskanen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Muuskanen comes to the cage accompanied by Abba - Dancing Queen. The key to victory for Mille Muuskanen has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mille Muuskanen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sean Coleman!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Bruno Lombardi and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Muuskanen throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Coleman tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Muuskanen is in Coleman's guard.
Muuskanen being controlled here momentarily.
Coleman's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Coleman wants to sweep but no luck.
Muuskanen trying to control but Coleman is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Muuskanen wants to pass the guard but Coleman is keeping the position.

Muuskanen drops back looking for a leg! Coleman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Coleman manages to kick Muuskanen off! Muuskanen jumps back into Coleman's guard.

Coleman is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Coleman is taking a breather. Muuskanen says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Muuskanen is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Coleman content to control rather than advance.
Muuskanen makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Muuskanen.
Coleman must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Coleman distracts Muuskanen with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Coleman tries to free his leg and advance position but Muuskanen is retaining full guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Coleman wants to control from the top but Muuskanen keeps moving.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Muuskanen takes a swing at Coleman's ribcage but misses.

Muuskanen shoots in but no luck this time.
Muuskanen tries for a takedown but Coleman circles away easily

and Coleman counters with a nice double leg into side control. Muuskanen won't be happy with that.

Muuskanen is trying desperately to improve position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Muuskanen looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Coleman sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Coleman is looking to work some ground and pound but Muuskanen has wrist control.
Muuskanen can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Coleman controls the pace.
Muuskanen has his hands on Coleman's head, controlling the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Muuskanen had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Coleman defends it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sean Coleman dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Muuskanen swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Muuskanen dives in for a single leg takedown but Coleman sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Muuskanen fails with a takedown attempt.
Coleman unleashes a big counter combination but Muuskanen bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Muuskanen fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Coleman wants to counter with a clinch but Muuskanen pushes him away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mille Muuskanen. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Coleman decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Coleman is keen to just control but Muuskanen is a slippery customer.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Coleman looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Coleman is trying to control. Muuskanen wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Muuskanen makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Muuskanen.
Coleman's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Muuskanen looking for a sweep. Not yet Muuskanen, not yet.
Coleman lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Coleman has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Muuskanen is looking for a triangle but Coleman pushes his legs off easily.

Muuskanen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Coleman manages to get himself to full guard.

Coleman has control of Muuskanen's left arm, preventing Muuskanen from doing any damage.
Muuskanen sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Coleman's guard.
Muuskanen wants to pass the guard but Coleman is defending well.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Muuskanen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Coleman's waist but Coleman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Muuskanen off to one side.
Coleman appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Muuskanen pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Muuskanen shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Coleman manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Muuskanen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Muuskanen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Coleman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Muuskanen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Muuskanen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Coleman can do anything to dispel that myth.
Coleman can't keep his opponent in guard - Muuskanen advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Coleman is pushing off trying to get to his feet. Muuskanen has hold of the leg though and he's dropped back for a heel hook… has he got it?? YES! Coleman is tapping! This fight is all over!
