The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A decent looking cross lands there for Söderlund.

It looks like Matrim Cauthon has been cut.
Söderlund moves out of range of the body kick from Cauthon.
Cauthon takes a jab right on the kisser.
Söderlund has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Söderlund takes a swing at Cauthon's ribcage but misses.

Cauthon is looking to slow Söderlund down with leg kicks.
Söderlund throws a wild body kick that Cauthon sees coming a mile off.

Cauthon throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Söderlund's waist but Söderlund gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cauthon off to one side.

Söderlund throws a jab when Cauthon was well out of range.

No joy there for Söderlund, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Söderlund throws a jab but it's blocked by Cauthon.
Cauthon appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Söderlund lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Cauthon at a distance.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Söderlund bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Cauthon's head.
Söderlund throws a jab when Cauthon was well out of range.
Söderlund misses the shot to the body.
Söderlund is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Cauthon had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Söderlund tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cauthon was well out of range. Poor timing from Söderlund.

Söderlund does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Cauthon throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Söderlund's head.

Cauthon lets loose with a powerful body kick. Söderlund will feel that in the morning.

Söderlund sends Cauthon crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Söderlund is motioning to the referee to let Cauthon up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Cauthon is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cauthon walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Cauthon limp body while Söderlund jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!
