PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gennakin Golovdy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Galu Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). He arrived on a last minute flight shortly after looking tired and unhappy. Officials decided the fight should still take place, much to the delight of the fans in attendance.
Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gennakin Golovdy and Galu Li. Golovdy comes to the cage accompanied by A New Beginning by Audiomachine. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Li has his takedown stuffed
and Golovdy counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Golovdy tries to clinch there but Li circles away.
Li only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Li throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Golovdy's waist but Golovdy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Li off to one side.
Li tries for a takedown but Golovdy sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Golovdy drops down looking for a counter takedown but Li sprawls and moves away.
Gennakin Golovdy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Galu Li.

Li closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Golovdy to the mat! Golovdy manages to get full guard.

Golovdy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Golovdy was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Galu Li is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Li fails with a takedown attempt.
Golovdy swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Li throws a front kick that sends Golovdy stumbling back into the cage.
Li shoots for a double leg takedown but Golovdy sprawls well. He's pushed Li's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Gennakin Golovdy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Galu Li.

Golovdy stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Golovdy wants it to stay on the feet.
Li tries to score a power double leg takedown but Golovdy sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Li somewhat.

and Li counters by moving into the clinch.
Li has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Golovdy is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Li takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

and Golovdy counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Li is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Golovdy counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!
