PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Michal Materla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Coryatt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Coryatt is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Welcome 2 Houston. Kevin Coryatt is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kevin Coryatt!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Albert Achterberg and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Coryatt closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Coryatt lands in his opponent's guard.

We've been hearing good reports from Materla's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Coryatt goes for a double leg but Materla avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Materla continues to drive forward.

Coryatt unleashes a big counter combination but Materla bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Coryatt shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Materla napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Materla takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Coryatt is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Materla's shoulder. That is not cool.
Materla is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
