PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cheif Keef (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Collins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Cheif Keef!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mike Collins!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Richard Clark and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Collins scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.


It looks like Cheif Keef has been cut.
Collins shoots for a takedown but Keef saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Collins darts in and clinches Keef up against the cage.

Keef has clasped his hands together around Collins's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Collins sneaks back into half guard.
Collins is doing well to control the position and prevent Keef from advancing to side control.
Keef not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Keef perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Collins has his hands clasped together around Keef's back. He's all about the action.
Keef seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Collins does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Keef wants to stand up but Collins has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Collins manages to get to full guard.
Keef with a flurry of punches that miss.
Keef looking to sit in guard and control but Collins gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Collins passes easily into side control. Nice work.

You can see the frustration on Keef's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Collins stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Collins throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Keef's waist but Keef gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Collins off to one side.

Keef shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Collins napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Collins might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Keef haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Keef seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Collins does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Collins is pushing down on Keef's leg trying to pass to half guard. Keef is fighting to maintain full guard but Collins has managed to sneak the leg through.

Keef stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Keef wants it to stay on the feet.
Keef checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
No luck for Collins with that takedown attempt.
Keef misses with a jab, cross combination.
Collins shoots in looking for a takedown but Keef manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Collins's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Cheif Keef has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Collins.

Collins fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Keef avoids it really well and circles away.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Keef has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Collins is proving hard to escape from.
Collins is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Keef got a little sloppy there for a moment and Collins has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Keef has managed to get both his arms back between Collins's legs - danger averted.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Keef wants to control from the top but Collins keeps moving.

Mike Collins comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Collins winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
