PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Celciar Quiandora (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Nuts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Quiandora's entrance music is Monster. A fine choice. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Celciar Quiandora!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Steve Nuts!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Matti Vanhoillinen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quiandora scores with a head kick. Nuts tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Quiandora closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Nuts quickly recovers to half guard.
Nuts moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Nuts wants to sweep here but Quiandora controlling him for the moment.
Nuts wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Quiandora looking to sit in guard and control but Nuts gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Nuts pushes down on Quiandora's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Nuts in particular looking to stall.
Quiandora wants to sweep but Nuts has passed to side control!
Quiandora seems a little lost for a moment, as Nuts dominates the positioning.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Quiandora wants to get back to his feet but Nuts is dominant here and he's now got Quiandora's back!
Nuts controls the action.
Quiandora could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Steve Nuts dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Nuts drives through with a takedown into Quiandora's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Quiandora isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Nuts stacks Quiandora on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Nuts!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Quiandora is in all sorts of trouble here.
Nuts takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Nuts's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Quiandora is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Nuts controlling from mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nuts is continuing to stall.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The adventures of Nuts the control monster continue. Boring.
Let's hope that Nuts has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Steve Nuts showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Quiandora shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Nuts manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Nuts is pulling down on Quiandora's head. It's preventing any offense from Quiandora, at least for the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nuts looking to hit a scissor sweep but Quiandora is one step ahead there.
Nuts seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Quiandora looking to sit in guard and control but Nuts gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Nuts slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Quiandora is looking for a sweep.
Nuts gets to mount! Quiandora was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Quiandora tries to hold on but Nuts postures up.

Steve Nuts comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Nuts winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
