Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rascel Bones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Terlajak Laris!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Viktor Lagutenko and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bones drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Laris wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Bones cracks Laris with a big elbow.
Bones scores with a couple of short elbows.
Bones taking a breather here.
Bones is looking to take a break and control but Laris is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Bones really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Laris is looking to reverse the position.

Bones wants to control but Laris is keeping him busy.
Bones will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Bones is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Laris is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Bones works to advance to full mount. Laris defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Bones swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Laris is now in Bones's guard. A big mistake from Bones there, giving up the dominant position!

Bones doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Bones wants to stand and escape but Laris is having none of it.

Laris loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Laris working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Bones keeping moving, preventing Laris from controlling successfully.

Bones working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Laris doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Laris manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Bones knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Laris on the ground.
Bones is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Laris wants to improve his position but Bones is controlling well.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Bones in particular looking to stall.

Bones is trying to control the action in half guard but Laris is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Bones is taking a breather. Laris says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Bones has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That's time! Bones's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Bones shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Laris's guard.

Laris drops back looking for a leg! Bones is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bones manages to kick Laris off! Laris jumps back into Bones's guard.

Bones controls Laris momentarily but Laris frees himself.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Bones drives through with a takedown into Laris's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Laris is working an open guard so Bones takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Bones clinches up with Laris and pushes him back against the cage.

Laris prevents a takedown attempt there.

Bones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bones defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Laris.

Bones shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Laris is trying to defend but Bones finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Bones seems to be working for a kimura but Laris defends the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bones is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Laris can do to turn this around?

Bones is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Laris is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Laris enables Bones to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Laris manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Laris takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Bones would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Bones drops back, looking for a kneebar! Laris looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Laris looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Laris!

Bones on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bones tries to get out of the position.

Laris slips a jab and a cross from Bones.

Bones drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Laris has a closed guard, preventing Bones from standing up.

Bones throws a big right hand that misses.
Bones is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Bones postures up in Laris's guard and throws a big left but Laris blocks it.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Bones shoots in and bounces Laris off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Bones lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Well Bones has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
