Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rick Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and conald cerroney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Rick Johnson has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Rick Johnson seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Lou da Vinci and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
cerroney tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Johnson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. cerroney sprawls well initially but Johnson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
cerroney is trying to maintain the position but Johnson is very close to passing his half guard.
cerroney regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Johnson.
cerroney working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Johnson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Johnson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Johnson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on cerroney, up you get!
Johnson shoots for a takedown but cerroney saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Johnson feints and as cerroney raises his hands in defense, Johnson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

cerroney is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Johnson takes the fight into the clinch.
cerroney has had enough of the clinch but Johnson keeps him there for the moment.
cerroney lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
cerroney struggles to land a body shot inside as Johnson controls his hands.

and cerroney counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

cerroney is pressed up against the cage. Johnson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag cerroney down to the mat. cerroney avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
