Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bret Irwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dick Lesnar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bret Irwin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dick Lesnar!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lesnar closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lesnar lands in his opponent's guard.
Lesnar's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Irwin controls Lesnar momentarily but Lesnar frees himself.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lesnar is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Lesnar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Irwin swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lesnar looking to sit in guard and control but Irwin gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lesnar is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Irwin wants to get up but he can't break Lesnar's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Lesnar looking to control.

Lesnar looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Irwin wants to stand but Lesnar is controlling his posture from full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Lesnar fails with the takedown

and Irwin counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Irwin.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Lesnar.
Irwin is struggling to control the position.

Irwin pulls guard successfully.
Lesnar engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Lesnar trying to control but Irwin is working from the bottom.
Lesnar wants to stand but Irwin is controlling his posture from full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Lesnar not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
A head kick misses from Lesnar.
Lesnar just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromIrwin.
Irwin could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Irwin shoots for a double leg takedown but Lesnar sprawls well. He's pushed Irwin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Lesnar keeps the fight on the outside.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lesnar goes for a double leg but Irwin avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Irwin continues to drive forward.

Lesnar shoots in and gets a takedown into Irwin's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dick Lesnar dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Lesnar scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Irwin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Lesnar throwing shots but Irwin is blocking nicely.
Irwin wants to control the action here but instead Lesnar manages to pass to full mount!

It looks like Bret Irwin has been cut.
Lesnar throwing strikes here but Irwin is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Irwin is concentrating on defense, preventing Lesnar from advancing position.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Lesnar seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Irwin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Lesnar gets the takedown into side control.
Lesnar misses with the ground and pound.
The referee asks Lesnar politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Lesnar prefers to stall for the moment though.
Irwin prevents Lesnar from moving into mount.
Lesnar wants to stand but Irwin is controlling his arm.
Irwin is letting Lesnar control him for a moment.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Dick Lesnar has got the better of the ground game so far.

Lesnar tries to move into full mount but can't pass Irwin's legs.

Lesnar tries to bum rush Irwin with a series of wild strikes but Irwin uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Lesnar throws a half hearted mid kick.
It looked like Irwin was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Lesnar has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Lesnar has his takedown stuffed
and Irwin counters with a series of strikes. Lesnar will be more careful next time no doubt.

Lesnar throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Dick Lesnar showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Bret Irwin's cut.
That's time! Irwin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Lesnar wants to get back to his feet.
Lesnar gets full guard.

Lesnar working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Irwin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Irwin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Irwin is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Irwin wants to get up but he can't break Lesnar's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lesnar is defended easily by Irwin.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Lesnar moves to clinch but Irwin breaks away
and Irwin counters with a stiff right hand.
Lesnar shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Irwin pinned against the cage. Irwin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Irwin throws a big counter combination but Lesnar scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Dick Lesnar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lesnar takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Irwin stuffs the takedown attempt from Lesnar. Lesnar gets slowly back to his feet.
Bret Irwin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dick Lesnar.

Irwin gets tackled into the cage by Lesnar. Lesnar maintains the clinch.

Dick Lesnar comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Lesnar winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
