Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kory Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabricio Werdum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fabricio Werdum has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kory Stevens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Fabricio Werdum!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Albert Achterberg and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Werdum lands with a thumping leg kick.
Stevens shoots in but Werdum avoids the takedown attempt easily.
As Stevens backs off Werdum throws a huge counter combo but Stevens manages to avoid it all.
Stevens fails with a takedown attempt.

Werdum closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Stevens to the mat! Stevens manages to get full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stevens pulls Werdum in close to his closed guard and prevents Werdum from doing any damage or advancing position.
Werdum throws a strike but Stevens rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Stevens would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Stevens wants to get up but he can't break Werdum's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Stevens postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Werdum is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Stevens, into his guard.

Werdum has closed the distance and engaged Stevens in a clinch.
Stevens is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Werdum to keep the fight standing.

Stevens has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Werdum finds it's way round the side to connect with Stevens's head.


It looks like Kory Stevens has been cut.

Werdum has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stevens can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Werdum tries to keep at a distance but Stevens has taken the fight into the clinch.

Werdum is trying to trip Stevens. He has hold of a leg but Stevens is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Werdum persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Stevens tries to clinch but Werdum is having none of it.

Stevens clinches up with Werdum and pushes him back against the cage.

Werdum's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Stevens darts in looking for a takedown but Werdum gets double underhooks and turns Stevens into the cage.

Well Werdum has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
