Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dustin Sweeney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kingpin Switz!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Switz misses.
It looked like Sweeney was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Switz.
Sweeney looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Sweeney tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Switz swivels and escapes.

Switz clinches up against the cage.
Sweeney fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dustin Sweeney. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A right handed body shot lands from Switz.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Switz is looking for a triangle but Sweeney pushes his legs off easily.

Sweeney will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Switz up against the cage.
Switz tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Switz has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sweeney uses from the top position.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Switz closes the distance and clinches up with Sweeney, looking for a takedown. Switz pushes Sweeney against the cage but Sweeney circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Switz throws a lazy right hand but Sweeney sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Switz moves into the clinch successfully.
Sweeney has Switz pressed against the cage.
Switz jumps guard but Sweeney stands there with Switz around his waist. Switz gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Sweeney is trying to drag Switz to the mat but Switz just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Switz pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Sweeney is looking to take a break and control but Switz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Switz wants to improve his position but Sweeney is controlling well.

Switz is pressing down on Sweeney's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Switz is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Sweeney is fighting to break Switz's control of his arms but Switz is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Sweeney looking to sit in guard and control but Switz gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Switz postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Switz has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Switz is looking to work some ground and pound but Sweeney has wrist control.

Sweeney pushes Switz off and scrambles back to his feet.
Switz tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Sweeney defends well and Switz ends up having to push Sweeney into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Dustin Sweeney has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kingpin Switz.
Switz takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sweeney is defended easily by Switz.
Switz has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Sweeney after a bit of a struggle.

Switz had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sweeney defends it easily.

Kingpin Switz is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Switz has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dustin Sweeney.
Well Switz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
