Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Unit Twelve (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Nicholas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Unit Twelve!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Nicholas!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Joseph Jones and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Twelve is looking to clinch.
Nicholas shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Twelve as he jumps to the side.
Nicholas shoots for a takedown but Twelve saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Nicholas looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Twelve changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Unit Twelve has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Nicholas.
Nicholas throws a leg kick but Twelve sees it coming and moves out of range.
Nicholas misses with a takedown

and Twelve counters with a single leg into guard. Nicholas didn't expect that.
Twelve content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Twelve engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Twelve has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nicholas can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Twelve slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Twelve wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nicholas keeps working.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

A lull in the action here as Twelve stalls from top position.
Twelve cracks Nicholas with a big right hand but Nicholas just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Nicholas gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Nicholas is squirming around, avoiding Twelve's attempts to control the action.
Twelve controlling his opponent.
Nicholas is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Twelve looking to control but Nicholas is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Twelve is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Nicholas is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Twelve controlling the pace for now.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Twelve.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Twelve is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Nicholas can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Twelve defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Nicholas.
Twelve is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.

Nicholas gets caught flat footed, as Twelve shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Nicholas tries to roll over but Twelve keeps him under control.
Twelve is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Twelve seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Nicholas does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Twelve content to control rather than advance.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Nicholas fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Twelve sprawls well initially but Nicholas persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Twelve is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Nicholas can do to turn this around?

Nicholas is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Twelve defends it well.
Twelve works his way to full guard. Good work.

Nicholas drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Twelve manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Nicholas has Twelve in his guard.


Twelve got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nicholas has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Twelve has managed to get both his arms back between Nicholas's legs - danger averted.
Twelve might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Nicholas working for a triangle but Twelve defends it easily.
Twelve stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nicholas swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Twelve's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Twelve trying to control but Nicholas is working from the bottom.
Unit Twelve overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Twelve fails with an attempt to clinch.
Nicholas changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Twelve tries to avoid it but Nicholas manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Twelve to the ground. Twelve escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jack Nicholas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Twelve throws a low kick but Nicholas moves out of range easily.
We've been informed that Nicholas has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Nicholas looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Nicholas enables Twelve to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Nicholas manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Twelve is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.
Nicholas is bucking up trying to escape but Twelve cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Twelve takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Twelve is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Nicholas has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Nicholas!

Nicholas postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Twelve is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Nicholas, into his guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Twelve wanted to stand there but Nicholas had control of the position.
Twelve postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Twelve is stalling in the full guard.
Nicholas keeping moving, preventing Twelve from controlling successfully.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Twelve postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Nicholas isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Twelve stacks Nicholas on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Twelve!
Nicholas is not content to let Twelve control the position.
Jack Nicholas has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Twelve cracks Nicholas with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Unit Twelve showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Twelve has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
