The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lakalaka misses with a head kick.
Powarenko went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Powarenko has his takedown stuffed
and Lakalaka counters with a straight right hand.
Lakalaka throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lakalaka misses with a few strikes there.
Powarenko dives in for a single leg takedown but Lakalaka sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Lakalaka unleashes a big counter combination but Powarenko bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Powarenko.
A countering left hand to the body from Lakalaka misses.

Lakalaka looks to land a combination but Powarenko avoids it well.
Lakalaka keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Powarenko closes the distance and clinches up with Lakalaka, looking for a takedown. Powarenko pushes Lakalaka against the cage but Lakalaka circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Lakalaka counters with a crisp one two that drops Powarenko! Lakalaka thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Powarenko to his feet! Powarenko is in big trouble!

Powarenko has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Power Plant in the buildup to the fight.
Powarenko is breathing heavily.
Powarenko is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Lakalaka doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Powarenko crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Powarenko's bad books for that mishap!
