Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Carl McGregor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Liam Jax (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McGregor comes to the cage accompanied by Rise Against - Survive.. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, David Hoff and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jax throws a head kick that McGregor semi-blocks.
Jax rushes McGregor and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Jax gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Jax is looking to take a break and control but McGregor is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jax is taking a breather. McGregor says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jax is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and McGregor defends it well.
McGregor might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
McGregor is looking for a sweep. Jax is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Jax throws a sloppy head kick and McGregor moves out of range easily.
McGregor clinches.
Jax wants to take the fight to the mat but McGregor manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
McGregor is working for takedown but Jax is calmly controlling the position for now.

Jax closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. McGregor did well to prevent Jax getting side control.

Well, if Jax is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Jax throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

McGregor is trying to push Jax away but Jax has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Jax is trying to force a seperation but McGregor has the dominant position.

A momentary lapse in concentration from McGregor enables Jax to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. McGregor manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

McGregor is wriggling around but Jax manages to pass to half guard.
McGregor slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
McGregor shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
McGregor wants to control from the top but Jax keeps moving.
McGregor throws a big right hand that misses.
McGregor postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jax is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of McGregor, into his guard.

McGregor drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jax manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now McGregor has Jax in his guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Jax is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Jax works over McGregor with some ground and pound from guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as McGregor holds on and takes a little breather.
McGregor wants to stand up but Jax is controlling him.

Jax throws a strike but McGregor rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
McGregor won't allow Jax to sweep him here.

Jax is not content to let McGregor control the position.
Jax tries to buck McGregor off but McGregor is having none of it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jax is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked McGregor off and has taken his back!
McGregor looking very determined here, making life difficult for Jax.
Jax is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.

That was a close second round but I would say that Carl McGregor will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Jax closes the distance and clinches up with McGregor, looking for a takedown. Jax pushes McGregor against the cage but McGregor circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
McGregor on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Jax shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McGregor as he jumps to the side.
McGregor looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
A head kick from Jax lands but McGregor takes it in his stride.

McGregor is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jax's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jax's back!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jax is trying to get back to his feet but McGregor has full control of the position and if anything, Jax has just worked his way into a worse spot.
McGregor is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Jax taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from McGregor.

A relieved looking Carl McGregor thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
