Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Dauden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matsumae Sukeyuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matsumae Sukeyuki is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ryan Dauden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matsumae Sukeyuki !
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Emerson Jorge and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dauden takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Sukeyuki throws a hook but Dauden blocks it.
Sukeyuki lands a lovely overhand right.
Sukeyuki scores with a three punch combo!
Dauden tries to close the distance and clinch but Sukeyuki swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Sukeyuki takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Sukeyuki throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Dauden misses with a two punch combination.

Dauden shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sukeyuki 's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Dauden drops back looking for a leg! Sukeyuki is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sukeyuki manages to kick Dauden off! Dauden jumps back into Sukeyuki 's guard.
Dauden wants to pass the guard but Sukeyuki is keeping the position.
Dauden trying to control the position from guard on top but Sukeyuki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Sukeyuki wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Dauden pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sukeyuki is keeping the position for now.
Sukeyuki is pulling down on Dauden's head. It's preventing any offense from Dauden, at least for the moment.

Dauden drops back looking for a leg! Sukeyuki is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sukeyuki manages to kick Dauden off! Dauden jumps back into Sukeyuki 's guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dauden lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sukeyuki circles away quickly and effectively.

Sukeyuki closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sukeyuki lands in his opponent's guard.
Sukeyuki postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Sukeyuki throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Sukeyuki loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Sukeyuki keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Dauden's head.

Sukeyuki working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Dauden looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sukeyuki is one step ahead there.
Sukeyuki throws a big right hand that misses.
Sukeyuki looking to sit in guard and control but Dauden gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dauden tries to stand but Sukeyuki is controlling from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sukeyuki can do anything to dispel that myth.
Sukeyuki is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Dauden wants to control from the top but Sukeyuki keeps moving.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Sukeyuki holds on and takes a little breather.

Dauden might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Matsumae Sukeyuki will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Dauden!
Sukeyuki scores with a punch to the head.
Dauden closes the distance and clinches up with Sukeyuki , looking for a takedown. Dauden pushes Sukeyuki against the cage but Sukeyuki circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Dauden throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Dauden tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sukeyuki swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sukeyuki stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sukeyuki wants it to stay on the feet.
Dauden wants to clinch.
Ryan Dauden seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sukeyuki bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Sukeyuki tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Dauden is working to avoid the ground and pound but Sukeyuki connects with a decent elbow.

Sukeyuki decides to stand back up. Sukeyuki steps back and let's Dauden get back to his feet.
Dauden moves in looking to clinch but Sukeyuki pushes him off.
Dauden misses with a jab, cross combination.
Dauden fails with an attempt to clinch.
Dauden tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sukeyuki swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryan Dauden. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sukeyuki throws a leg kick but Dauden moved away.

Dauden doesn't manage to clinch there - Sukeyuki circles away.

Sukeyuki has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Dauden jumps guard but Sukeyuki turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Sukeyuki wants to stand but Dauden is controlling his posture from full guard.

Sukeyuki has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Dauden is proving hard to escape from.

Sukeyuki throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dauden works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Dauden tries to clinch up but Sukeyuki circles away and keeps his distance.
Dauden paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Sukeyuki jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Sukeyuki is looking to score with low kicks.
Dauden lands a jab.
Dauden fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sukeyuki throws a head kick but Dauden moves out of range.
Sukeyuki throws a hook to the side of Dauden's head but Dauden sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Sukeyuki connects with a nice looking jab.
Sukeyuki scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Dauden doesn't seem bothered though.

Sukeyuki pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Dauden back to the cage. Sukeyuki follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Sukeyuki shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dauden napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Sukeyuki in side control, throwing shots but Dauden defends.
Sukeyuki misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Dauden manages to get back to half guard.
Sukeyuki stops Dauden from getting back to his feet.

Matsumae Sukeyuki showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Sukeyuki will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dauden uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Sukeyuki .
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Sukeyuki checks a leg kick.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Sukeyuki lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Dauden backs up against the cage.
Dauden misses with an uppercut. Sukeyuki saw that one coming.
Sukeyuki swings for the body but Dauden moves out of range.
Sukeyuki takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Dauden throws a nice looking combination but Sukeyuki bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Dauden tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sukeyuki was well out of range. Poor timing from Dauden.
Dauden tries to move into range but Sukeyuki moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Sukeyuki closes the distance and clinches.
Sukeyuki tries to land knees in the clinch but Dauden avoids the damage to the body.
Dauden changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Sukeyuki fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Sukeyuki closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Dauden did well to prevent Sukeyuki getting side control.
Sukeyuki wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dauden keeps working.

Sukeyuki is taking a breather. Dauden says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Matsumae Sukeyuki is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Sukeyuki cracks Dauden with a big right hand but Dauden just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Dauden flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Matsumae Sukeyuki comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Sukeyuki has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
