Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tom Blackwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Neto Queiroz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tom Blackwell!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Neto Queiroz!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Alexandre Firmino and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Queiroz scores with a spinning back kick!
Blackwell shoots for a takedown but Queiroz saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Neto Queiroz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Queiroz fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Blackwell has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Queiroz scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Blackwell tries to close the distance and clinch up but Queiroz swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Queiroz successfully pulls guard.
Queiroz utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Queiroz is trying to control the position but Blackwell postures up.
Queiroz has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Cozad MMA Rio. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Blackwell is in close to Queiroz's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Queiroz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Blackwell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Queiroz will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Blackwell postures up and lands a big shot to Queiroz's brow.
Blackwell working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Blackwell is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Queiroz is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Queiroz has escaped and now he's on top!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Blackwell is adopting a defensive guard.
Queiroz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Blackwell looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Queiroz would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Blackwell seems keen to control Queiroz's posture.
Queiroz trying to stand up but can't free himself from Blackwell's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Blackwell is looking for a triangle but Queiroz pushes his legs off easily.
Queiroz wanted to stand there but Blackwell had control of the position.

Blackwell working for a triangle but Queiroz defends it easily.
Blackwell is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Queiroz wants to get up but he can't break Blackwell's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Queiroz got a little sloppy there for a moment and Blackwell has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Queiroz has managed to get both his arms back between Blackwell's legs - danger averted.
Blackwell seems keen to control Queiroz's posture.
Blackwell's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Queiroz wants to stand but Blackwell has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Blackwell working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Queiroz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Blackwell is tightening it up a little... Queiroz has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Queiroz reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Queiroz taps out! Nice BJJ there by Blackwell!
